Over the last twenty years our tourism consultancy work under the name of Phoenix Design has resulted in a number of tourist attractions and museums designed by John Chapman; the Royal Geological Museum in Penzance, Beachy Head Countryside Centre, Louth Town Museum, The Mineral Tramways Discovery Centre, King Edward Mine, Marsh Farm, Essex as well as displays at Lands End, Looe, Noah’s Ark, Bristol, and The Isles of Scilly Museum.
A particular specialisation was the design and construction of high quality cabinet work, retail design and themed displays.
In addition we completed many feasibility studies for tourist attractions, hotels, visitor centres, testing financial and design criteria prior to recommendations to clients such as English Tourist Board, City of London Corporation (Tower Bridge),West Cumbria Development Agency, the Rural Development Commission, Carrick, North Cornwall and Restormel District Councils, Essex County Council, East Sussex County Council and Cheltenham District Council.
